Institut NeuroMyoGène

Physiopathology and Genetics of Neuron and Muscle

Six of the eight research teams involved in the RHU (Chazaud, Mounier, Jacquemond, Schaeffer, Gache, Courchet) are hosted in the NeuroMyoGene institute (INMG) in the Faculty of Medicine of Lyon. INMG develops cutting-edge basic and applied research on the nervous and muscular systems. Multiscale strategies and transverse programs are necessary for a comprehensive decoding of the neuromuscular system. The INMG brings together basic research teams and clinicians, which facilitates the transfer of information “from bench to bedside”. One of the INMG goals is to develop novel therapeutic tools with clinicians and pharmaceutical companies.

The faculty of medicine hosts state of the art shared technological platforms (https://sfrsantelyonest.univ-lyon1.fr/plateaux.html) including state of the art platforms for mouse housing and neuromuscular evaluation, for Omics and for conventional, super resolutive and electron microscopy.
